Red Facility

Description:
It's been decades since humanity abandoned Earth. The sun expanded faster than anyone could have predicted, turning the planet into a desert wasteland. That didn’t stop UniCell science from trying to harness solar energy at the Red Facility, the last remaining bastion of humanity in the old solar system. That is, until you get a distress signal from the facility. Something has gone terribly wrong and you’re tasked to retrieve their research before it's too late. Electricity has been shoddy, so you'll need a flashlight. Explore the lab to find keycards left behind by UniCell researchers and gain access to different parts of the lab. Get the data stored in the main office and uncover what really happened at the Red Facility.

Use of theme Apocalypse:
Our game takes place on Earth after the apocalypse: the sun gets too close and causes the end of the world and mass human exodus.

Spoiler alert (use of subthemes):
In terms of story, and in turn, gameplay, Transhumanism plays a significant role. The info on Discord states "The belief or theory that the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations.” The monster that chases you is a direct result of someone who has this belief and takes it to the extreme, and all the events detailed in the audio logs that lead up to the creation of the monster are intertwined with this, as well as themes of the apocalypse and general foreboding. This includes the subthemes Post-Apocalyptic Desert Madness (since the Earth is a desert) as well as “Too Late,” because the world already ended when you came back. Also, the ending…
